A new $189.0 M, 7-story hospital Concentrated Care Building addition for the University of Louisville Health. This building was designed for a 66,000 sq ft, 3-story future addition allowing for a total of 10-stories plus a basement. The upgrade to UofL Health offers more than 360 beds/private rooms, 20 operating rooms, 24 bed observation unit, new lobby, waiting area, gift shop, and coffee shop. The new tower will alleviate capacity constraints and enhance access to UofL Hospital’s specialized care, advanced academic research, and 
innovative treatments.

 

The structural system is comprised of a steel superstructure with composite slab system, and concrete shear walls. The building is founded on auger-cast pile foundations.
