Two new 5-story, 452-bed residence halls with attached Cultural & Equity Centers and a Housing Office. Belknap Village North and South are located in the heart of the Belknap campus directly adjacent to the Student Activities Center. These residence halls offer students support spaces such as classrooms, private study rooms, a game room, and a Center for Engaged Learning, where students can find hands-on job and research opportunities. Both new residence halls are also home to several of the university’s Living-Learning Communities, giving students access to academic and staff support, leadership opportunities, and other resources.
Structure is comprised of 8” cast-in-place Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) exterior bearing walls with a single structural steel interior beam/column line located within an 8” cold-formed metal framing corridor wall. The floor system consists of 8” hollow-core precast concrete planks with a 3” concrete topping. Foundations
consist of concrete grade beams framing between concrete drilled piers bearing on bedrock. The use ICF construction on this project contributed toward a more energy-efficient, sustainable, and economical
building design.
