PROJECT FACTS

A $40.0 M renovation of, and addition to, the existing University of Kentucky College of Law building.  The completed structure consists of 120,000 sq ft of useable floor space spread out among 3-stories plus a basement.  Architectural and mechanical components of the existing building were completely removed leaving an existing concrete frame structural skeleton.   With due consideration for sustainability and cost savings, the project utilizes selective demolition of existing structure only where necessary.  The remainder of the existing structural system is incorporated into the finished design.  New addition portions of the structure are comprised of structural steel framing.  New interior spaces include several tiered seating classrooms and courtrooms, large rooms dividable via operable partitions, and two feature stair systems.
