A 3-story adaptive reuse of a former tobacco handling facility, transforming a historic industrial building into a dynamic academic environment for visual arts education. The renovated facility supports a wide range of creative and instructional spaces, including open studios, media labs, a multipurpose 3D fabrication lab, a photography suite, ceramics facility, printmaking shop, wood shop, metal shop, classrooms, exhibition and gallery areas, faculty offices, and shared gathering spaces that encourage collaboration and create an engaging setting for students and faculty. 
 

The existing building is constructed primarily of historic masonry and wood framing. Steel trusses support a large portion of the existing roof structure, allowing the building to accommodate the renovated program while maintaining open interior spaces.
