A new 13-story steel framed building housing both office and residential space built over 3-story parking garage in downtown Lexington. This facility features shops and a restaurant on the main street level.

The structural design included verification of parking structure support capacity, weekly tonnage tracking, erection and sequencing engineering, and full connection design. The design utilized a hybrid lateral design of moment resisting frame with concrete shear walls with link beams to maintain mass over the foundation overturning anchors. Structural work for the penthouse condominiums within the mid-rise mixed-use tower included mezzanine and storage conveyor.

The project was a fast-track structural redesign for value engineering from cast-in-place concrete to structural steel frame. The redesign maintained floor to floor heights, expedited construction schedule and saved $5.0 M to the developer from the previous design/bid.
