PROJECT FACTS

The project involved the renovation / conversion of the existing Lexington Mall into a contemporary worship center for a satellite outreach of Southland Christian Church. Prior to its conversion, the facility had been vacant for several years. In addition to the interior fit-up, the project also focused on increasing the amount of ambient light within the facility through the addition of skylights and glass walls. Structurally the project included the partial reconstruction of the second floor and roof, the addition and upgrade of the lateral force resisting system, the addition of architectural entrance canopies and sun louvers, reconstruction of exterior wall systems, the addition of skylights and monumental staircase, screen walls, architectural concrete wall coverings, and interior architectural structures. The new sanctuary addition is constructed of a steel frame supported on drilled pier foundations. The roof structure utilizes long-span steel trusses and acoustical deck. The balcony is constructed of cantilevered steel truss framing.
