PROJECT FACTS

Veteran’s adult assisted living campus consisting of one community building flanked by four identical neighborhood buildings.  The community building connects with all neighborhood buildings via enclosed walkways.

The buildings’ structural systems consist of a wood sheathing roof diaphragm supported by pre-fabricated wood trusses and load bearing stud walls.  Lateral forces are transmitted to the foundation via wood shear walls throughout the structures.

Each building also contains an elevated mechanical mezzanine primarily hidden within the roof of the structure.  These mezzanines are supported by a composite cast-in-place concrete slab over a steel moment frame system.

Foundations consist of isolated spread footings at concentrated loads (i.e. columns) and strip footings with concrete stem walls at load bearing exterior walls.
