PROJECT FACTS
A $20.8 M, 3-story, 104,000 sq ft steel frame building with classrooms, laboratories and offices at the Florence Campus of Gateway Community College. This project consisted of three floors totaling approximately 104,000 sq ft. It is a steel frame structure utilizing composite steel beam construction. The foundation system consists of shallow spread footings on plastic clay soil. The lateral force resisting system utilizes concentrically braced frames.
Architectural and special use considerations included clearstory windows, high bay manufacturing area, and manufacturing robot induced vibration on elevated floor structures.
