A world-class equestrian event arena for the Kentucky Horse Park that also serves as a multi-purpose arena for events such as concerts, trade shows, and conventions.

The structure was designed by Brown + Kubican in partnership with Thornton Tomasetti. It consists of a steel roof structure with clear spans exceeding 200 feet, a composite steel beam and slab system at the suite level and a cast-in-place concrete slab, and beam system at the concourse level. The structure is braced with steel braced frame. 

The concept of implementing two structural engineering consultants has proven to be very effective. Thornton Tomasetti brought a wealth of experience related to arenas and long span structures while Brown + Kubican offered experience with local building codes, site conditions and knowledge of the construction environment for this project.
