A new $17.0 M public library for the city of Lexington, Kentucky. The Marksbury Branch features a large community meeting room, multi-purpose room, hands-on Makerspace, library space, and small group study rooms. The 2-story open space and outdoor amphitheater provides the ability to host a large variety of community activities such as large gatherings, presentations, parties, gaming tournaments, and art fairs.
The structure consists of composite steel floor deck and steel moment frame lateral system. The structure features slanted columns supporting a large cantilevered section of floor above the main entrance.
