This steel framed arbor is a work of art, comprised of structural steel tubes and plates.  The arbor was designed and constructed to meet the AISC specifications for Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel (AESS Level 4).

It is coated with a high performance paint system, and is founded on shallow spread footings, which bridge the utility tunnel, located immediately below grade.
