A 1-story visitor center with a partial second floor and walk-out basement for Boone’s Ridge that attracts more than 1,000,000 tourists each year. The facility will include a restaurant, theater, gift shop, and a museum exhibit hall with wildlife displays. Boone’s Ridge will reach and support over 100,000 K-12 students annually. Through on-site and remote learning programs, scholarships and education grants, Boone’s Ridge will help enhance and
improve education in Eastern Kentucky.
The structure consists of waffle-mat foundations, composite steel floor system, and a combination of predominantly Glue-Laminated Wood (Glulam) beams/purlins/custom truss, and some steel joist roof construction.
