PROJECT FACTS
A $20.0 M, 3-story, 66,000 sq ft steel frame building with classrooms,
laboratories, and offices at the Newtown Campus of Bluegrass
Community and Technical College. This project consisted of a steel
frame structure utilizing composite steel beam construction. The
foundation system consists of a series of grade beams supported by
drilled pier foundations down to rock. The lateral force resisting system
utilizes concentrically braced frames.
Architectural and special use considerations included special vibration
considerations for the floor framing and an exterior pedestrian bridge
structure.
